Some Baker County smash-and-grab burglars after menthol cigarettes successfully pulled off their smoke heist, but couldn't slip past surveillance cameras.

They hit  BVM convenience store and a Petro station in Newton last Wednesday night.

Video shows a good look at the burglars before they covered their faces. They tossed cinder blocks through the front windows of the stores and caused $2,000 in damage.

The take: ten boxes of Newport cigarettes and two boxes of cigars.

Investigators say the men may be from out of town and could be linked to similar crimes in Albany.

The break-ins happened about fifteen minutes apart and half of a mile from each other.

Anyone with information that could help identify the burglars is urged to contact the Baker County Sheriff's Office.
