Darton State College has launched a free math program aimed at helping students score higher on the school's math Placement exam.
The online course is offered to anyone in the state but is geared toward students returning to school after years out of the class room. The goal is to help students avoid remedial classes and boost graduation rates.
The course has no registration fee or required books and is presented through Darton State's learning management system.
"We see so many students that come in that aren't prepared necessarily, but I think with a few weeks of a course like this compass review class, they could have easily tested into a credit level math class," said Margorie Carden, Course Instructor.
The 6-week class will be offered four times this summer. Students can retake it if necessary.
The school hopes to teach up to one-thousand students through the program by the end of the summer. Visit our website for more information on how to register, visit: http://math.darton.edu
