VALDOSTA, GA (WALB) -

Summer at Wild Adventures in Valdosta kicks off this weekend.

The park has a lot planned for the celebration, including free admission for military and first responders.

Starting this weekend Wild Adventures will be open everyday throughout the summer. Friday night the water park is opening for the first time after dark for season ticket holders. Saturday American Idol winner Scotty McCreery will be performing, and all military and public safety officials get in free in honor of Memorial Day weekend.

"We really want to pay tribute to those who protect and serve in the community on a daily basis and abroad. So, on Sunday and Monday members of the military and first responders get free admission into the park," said Micha Hogan with Wild Adventures.

Monday Wild Adventures will host its fifth annual Red, White and You celebration with displays and demonstrations from local first responders.
