ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

The Albany Police Department says that a woman who was walking along 8th Avenue was bitten by a dog Thursday afternoon.

 Here is the release provided by APD-

At approximately 1:08 this afternoon, Dispatch advised that a 43-year old female had been bitten by a large pit-bull.

Officers responded and reported that Cindy Myrick was walking home when the dog approached her and bit her on the right knee.

Myrick was transported to the hospital for further treatment. Immediately after the incident occurred, Animal Control agents began searching the area for the dog but at the time of this e-mail the dog had not been located.

Charges are pending against the dog owner.

Pit-bull information: Pit-bull named Devo.
