ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

A Dougherty County rape crisis center hopes to raise $15,000 at a tasty event Thursday night at the Merry Acres Event Center.

The Lily Pad Center provides support services to more than 300 child victims and roughly 150 adults every year. About two hundred people are expected to show up for the fourth annual 'Farm to Fork' Fundraiser.

Attendees will be fed a southern style meal featuring organic chicken, fresh produce and boiled peanuts, all donated by nearby farmers.

The director says the organization operates solely from grants and donations and says every dollar raised will be used for victims' services.

"We're heavily not only in assisting survivors of abuse, but prevention," said Cassandra Wright Lily Pad Director. "You know, our goal is to decrease that number. To make people more aware of how to prevent these things from happening."

Tickets were sold for $75 and more are available at the door. Dinner will be accompanied with a live piano singer, a silent auction and a raffle ticket.

The Lily Pad serves Dougherty County and 32 surrounding counties.
