ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

An Albany man is thankful to have his bicycle back, less than two days after it was stolen.

The bike was taken from his Cumberland Lane home Tuesday, and his camera got a partial look at the culprits.

He said that two people broke the lock on a utility closet and took an Echo backpack blower and a Black Specialized carbon frame bike.

Owner Kirt Phillips says after filing a police report, workers at Mega Pawn in Lee County recognized the bike from a story on WALB.com and refused to buy it from the suspects. Instead they told the suspects that they new the bike was reported stolen, and asked the suspects to "do the right thing."

According to Phillips, the suspects left the shop without the bike.

Phillips had just recently purchased the road bike valued at more than $2,000, but barely had a chance to ride it.

"You realize that crime is everywhere. It's not isolated and it just shows you that keeping things under lock and key aren't safe anymore."

A neighbor said that they saw an older model white SUV driving up and down Cumberland Lane around 4:00 the same morning.  She watched them for around 30 minutes, and described them as two younger white males-  one with curly dark hair.

"This was a special bike. It was a nice bike I had saved for. It was a special fit bike, [with] a carbon frame," says Phillips. He expects authorities to make an arrest soon.

So far it hasn't been confirmed if Edwards was the caretaker of that man but that the incident did happen at Magnolia Manor in Moultrie.
