Lee Co. woman collects donations for Oklahoma children
LEESBURG, GA (WALB) -
A concerned citizen is stepping up to help the children who have been devastated by the tornado in Oklahoma.
Lee County resident Jyl Goodson says she wants to help bring joy back to the children in Moore, who have lost everything. She hopes folks in South Georgia will help with donations of gently used or new children's clothing and toys.
"My effort is just to get a few things to the children that lets them know there is still normal life. There are people who care for them, love them, even though they don't personally know them. And to give them some hope," said Goodson," said Goodson.
She's hoping to get her first shipment out by Thursday. She has three drop off locations, one at Pollock Heating and Cooling on N. Washington Street in Albany, another at the George and Company hair salon on Archwood Drive in Albany and one in Lee County at the Century Fire station on U.S. 19.
You can also call her at 229-343-0366 and she will pick up whatever donations you have.
