ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

Dougherty County Police say tips called in by WALB News Ten viewers led them to charge a Baconton man for a hit and run over the weekend.

Dougherty County Police issued arrest warrants Tuesday for 50 year old Dwayne Hogan. An e-mail from police Wednesday said Hogan surrendered to police and was booked into the Dougherty County Jail.

Police say  Hogan was driving a 2006 Ford F-150 pickup truck when he struck 33 year old James Hunt of Putney Friday night in the 39-hundred block of Radium Springs Road.

Hunt remains in intensive care, but he's expected to survive. "Once you guys aired this on the television we did receive some information about who the driver is, and what vehicle was involved," Said DCP Sgt. Chad Kirkpatrick.

Dwayne Hogan is charged with felony hit and run and misdemeanor failing to report a car accident with injuries.
