Tift man arrested after 50-pound attempted pot buy

Information from the Tift County Sheriff's Office-

On Tuesday, May 7, 2013, the Mid-South Narcotics Task Force along with the Tift County Sheriff's Office served a search warrant on the residence of 36 year old Daniel Eubanks located at 905 36th Street Tifton.

The search warrant was served as part of a joint investigation with the Lowndes County Sheriff's Office into Eubanks marijuana distribution. During the investigation Eubanks had attempted to purchase approximately fifty pounds of marijuana from an undercover officer in Lowndes County.

When Eubanks arrived to make the purchase he was arrested by drug agents with the Lowndes County Sheriff's Office. During this time agents with the Task Force and Tift County deputies who had been performing surveillance on Eubanks served a search warrant on his residence.

During the search of the residence agents and deputies discovered large plastic containers with suspected marijuana residue in the attic crawl space. The containers appeared to be used for storage of the drug.

Also during the search agents discovered and seized $121,000.00 in cash. At the time of his arrest Eubanks was held at the Lowndes County Detention Center charged with trafficking in marijuana.
