ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

Some of the top small businesses in Albany were honored at a Chamber of Commerce celebration at Chehaw, Thursday night.

The Mayor and County Commission Chairman read proclamations declaring next week Small Business Week.

The finalists for Small Business of the Year were honored.

Stewbo's, which operates Harvest Moon, The Catch, and Henry Cambell's restaurants, was the runner up.

Electrical contractor A-West Enterprise was named the winner.

"There's a lot of people I would like to thank for getting this award like the banks, the bonding companies, my wife and I have to give all credit to Jesus Christ," said Edward West.

Small business week recognizes the contributions of America's entrepreneurs and small business owners.

More than half of Americans either own or work for a small business.
