AAA: More travelers to hit the road this summer

TIFTON, GA (WALB) -

Most of you plan to hit the road this summer, according to AAA.

The group's study says 75% of Georgians plan to take a vacation between May and September.

That's up 15% from 2011 and 5% from last year.

We caught up with one man who already has summer plans and a gas station worker who's geared for the summer rush.

"I'm going to Washington pretty soon. I went last year, but my dad just wants to go up there and check out the museums," said driver Jay Davis.

"Keeping this store busy and pumps full all the time is good. Keeping people in and out and on the road is all I care about," said Shell station employee Antonio Price.

AAA predicts nearly one-third of Americans will travel for Memorial Day this year.

More than half of them will be driving to their destinations.
