BACONTON, GA (WALB) -

It's a big day for Baconton Community Charter School seniors.

The school is celebrating its biggest graduating class. It includes many of the original kindergarten students from when the school opened.

After 13 years of hard work, 52 kids will walk across the stage tonight to receive their diplomas.17 of them starting in Kindergarten and went through twelfth grade together.

Students and school officials say the experience has made them like family.

"Friendship is one of the best one's I can say about being with the same 52 kids for my kindergarten year to my twelfth grade year. They are a great class. And I've enjoyed every bit of it. They will always be part of me," said Stephen Bullard.

"Today is a very proud day. We are all very close. We've been able to watch them grow up in our school. From the very first day we opened until tonight so it's an exciting time for all of us," said Assistant Principal Missy Council.

Baconton Charter used to hold its graduation ceremony at the school, but since they've grown so much, Thursday's ceremony will be held at Darton College.
