ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

Board members and Trustees of the Albany Museum of Art getting a sneak peek at what the exhibits that will become available for public viewing Thursday night.

The facility recently underwent the first phase of renovations which included taking out walls to create more space, adding lighting, and making room for the building to occupy at five hundred to six hundred people at a time.

The museum will feature art of Albany native Robert Matre, and pieces from the Frank Mccall collection.

"Well tomorrow night will be a really great opportunity not only to see Rob Matre's artwork, but also to have a chance to talk to the artist. There's nothing like hearing form the person that created the artwork. Rob is a great guy he has lots of friends here. So we hope everyone will come out have this opportunity for a one on one with rob while he's in town," said Karen Kemp the Director of the Albany Museum of Art.

The renovation won't be completed for another 6 weeks and the museum will celebrate their 30th anniversary in the same location soon.
