Defense Secretary Hagel announced that 11 furlough days for Department of Defense civilian employees will be taken.
They will work four days a week starting July 8th and the days they missed will be unpaid.
Wednesday afternoon, the MCLB issued this statement-
We are currently evaluating how Secretary of Defense-mandated furloughs will impact our total workforce.
As a subordinate command under the DoD umbrella, we are awaiting amplifying guidance from the Department of the Navy and Headquarters,Marine Corps.
We will keep our workforce, as well as the Greater Albany area, informed with up-to-date information as we receive it.
Keeping faith with our civilian employees remains a top priority.
