ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

An Albany Police officer and a gasoline tanker truck driver are both hospitalized in good condition following an early morning crash in East Albany.

33-year-old APD Officer Marita Williams suffered cuts on her face and body pains when her police cruiser was struck by a Synergy Fuel Transport truck at the intersection of Radium Springs and East Oglethorpe Drive about 7:10 Wednesday morning.

Officer Williams and the truck driver, 40 year old Christopher Brister, were taken by ambulance to an Albany hospital with minor injuries.

A third car, a Nissan, driven by 51 year old Cynphia Harris, was also struck by the police car as it was pushed about 10 feet by the gas truck before they stopped.

Harris declined to be taken to the hospital via ambulance.

Troopers investigating the crash say Officer Williams turned in front of the gas truck while attempting to make a traffic stop.

Troopers say the officer did not have her blue lights on.  No charges will be filed.
