A group in Baker County is asking the school board to remove the newly hired principal.

The Baker County Community Council disagrees with the way the school board has handled the hiring and firing of teachers.

At a news conference Tuesday they asked that Baker County Elementary and High School Principal Torrance Choate be fired and that the board receive more training.

"I would like to see the principal dismissed from the system, and I would like the school board to be corrected. You know they don't have any training, they are just doing things. They refuse to even go to any of the training," said Shirley Sherrod of the Baker Co. Community Council.

The Baker County Community Council will travel to Atlanta next week to meet with the state attorney general.

We'll talk to the Baker County school board attorney about the issue Wednesday.
