Robbers terrorize Albany clerk, escape with money

ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

An Albany store owner offers a $200 reward to help catch the armed robbers who stuck up his store Friday night. The robbery was caught on surveillance video, and you can hear the clerk beg for her life.

The two masked robbers, armed with guns, burst into the Save Rite Petro Store on South Westover Road about 9:25 Friday night. One of them jumped the counter and pushed the clerk back as the other ran around the counter.

The clerk cooperated and gave them money, but when they demanded she open the safe, she begged them not to shoot her.

"Please, I got a baby y'all. Please. I got a baby. I got a baby, y'all. That's my check right there y'all. That's my check, right there. You can have it. Please don't kill me. I got a daughter y'all. Please," she said.

The robbers rifled through the cash registers, taking the bills and throwing coins on the floor.

A witness saw the men jump into a silver Dodge Charger parked behind a nearby church. The witness said the last tag numbers were 2809.
