ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

Wells Fargo in Albany and Flint River Habitat for Humanity is giving a South Georgia family a place to call home.

In a few months, Tiffany Gervin and her two little girls will have a new home. Saturday, Wells Fargo of Albany and Flint River Habitat for Humanity worked side by side to build a home for the family.

Tiffany is a 6 year veteran of the U.S. Navy and she is ready to settle down and raise her daughters in one place.

"I've always been going and going and been away from my family. This creates a lot of stability. Now they get to be around their cousins that live here in the neighborhood and then their grandparents that live here in Albany," said Tiffany Gervin.

Volunteer builders say helping to create a new environment for those in need never gets old.

"We look forward to actually putting great homeowners who are focus. Who are looking for an opportunity to increase and better their lives for their family. That seems to be her focus. She really wants a great place to raise her kids," said David Wilson.

After some trying times in the last few years Tiffany says this new house will help give her a fresh start.

While living in Jacksonville, Florida, Tiffany got a divorce and was looking for a change in life.

Tiffany says she and her mom were watching WALB News 10 last year when they saw a story about signing veterans up for a new home from Habitat for Humanity. Tiffany's mom signed her up and soon after, someone called saying she was chosen to become a homeowner.

"Being 29, haven't hit 30 yet and being an actual homeowner and a single parent. I was very grateful for my mom for doing that," said Tiffany Gervin.

Wells Fargo presented Tiffany with a $15,000 check for expenses for her new place. She's grateful to Wells Fargo and the habitat workers for giving her a chance to start over.

Flint River Habitat for Humanity is hoping the house will be ready for Tiffany and her daughters to move in by July.
