South Georgia teams start GISA Baseball playoffs on right foot

The road to a GISA State Baseball Championship begins Friday.

The Deerfield-Windsor Knights struggled to get the runs started against Dominion Christian.

But once they started, they didn't stop.

The Knights were deadlocked with DC at 0-0 for much of Game 1, but were able to earn a 4-0 victory.

In Game 2, the Knights eliminated Dominion quickly, 14-4 in 6 innings.

Over in Cordele, Crisp Academy began their journey to a fourth straight title game appearance with a 2-0 series sweep over Thomas Jefferson Academy.

In Game 1, the Wildcats took a 13-5 win.

In Game 2, they made short work of the Jaguars, 13-3 in 5 innings.

The Randolph Southern Patriots know when their season ends, it will mean the end of their program.

But they don't plan on letting the end come any time soon.

The Patriots were all over Nathanael Greene in Shellman.

Game 1 went to RSS by a score of 11-1 in five, then they won Game 2, 16-6, in six innings.

Finally, Terrell Academy hopes big things are in store after the program's first region title.

The Eagles jumped on the board early, and plated enough runs for a 4-0 win over Covenant Academy.

The two teams will meet for Game 2 at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in Dawson.
