CORDELE, GA (WALB) -

Crisp Regional Hospital is expanding to serve a growing number of patients.

Friday afternoon, Hospital officials showed off the first phase of an expansion project.

They brought in new emergency room beds and dedicated a special lobby.

The expansion also features a new E-M-S bay with room for two ambulances and a much larger nurses' station to accommodate more patients.

Before the expansion, the hospital had to treat a lot of emergency patients in areas not designed for emergency care.
