Clerk thwarts armed robbery attempt

THOMASVILLE, GA (WALB) -

A female cashier was confronted by an armed woman who came into Thomasville's Carroll Hill Package store shortly before 2:00 and demanded money.

The clerk scuffled with the would-be bandit, and took her weapon away from her. The criminal ran away empty-handed. She drove away from the North Blvd., North Stevens area in a black Toyota Camry.

Thomasville Police are looking for a heavy-set black woman wearing blue jeans and a light colored shirt.

Police have the gun, and the clerk was unharmed in the incident.
