ALBANY, GA (WALB) -
Albany's Marine Base is working hard to keep employees safe at work and at their home this summer.
Marine Corps Logistic Command headquarters is using "101 Critical Days of Summer" to remind base employees about safety during the busy summer months.
A safety stand-down is required twice a year at the base.
Thursday's fair featured more than two dozen displays about summer related activities.
The goal is to help minimize injuries and deaths.
"We just got a gauntlet of different activities out here for the folks to get involved with to focus your attention back on safety. Cause we get lost sometimes in our work environment. It just a good opportunity to come out and unplug for a minute," said Christopher Shaw an occupational safety and health specialist.
The Harley Davidson motorcycle display was one of the most popular safety demonstrations.
People got to shift through gears and learn proper operating procedures.
This is the 6th year for the Logistics Command Safety Stand-down.
