Motorcyclist dies after wreck

A motorcyclist was transported to Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital in serious condition from a wreck Wednesday evening. It is now confirmed that he died Thursday morning from his injuries sustained in the wreck.

A little after 5 pm Wednesday, 52-year-old William Frantz was riding east on Sylvester Road.

57-year-old Judy Hatcher tried to turn onto Cordele Road and pulled her Ford Explorer in front of the motorcycle.

One witness said Frantz flipped off his motorcycle and hit the pavement hard.

"It was pretty horrific. It was pretty devastating impact. As you can see it basically broke the front tire off of the motorcycle," said witness Patrick Burke.

Frantz was wearing a full face helmet.

Charges against Hatcher are pending.
