LOWNDES COUNTY, GA (WALB) -

Lowndes County schools did well in the state's new school report card.

The Georgia College and Career Ready Performance Index replaces the old Adequate Yearly Progress performance measurement.

It measures students on their readiness for two or four-year colleges, universities, and technical colleges.

Nine of the 11 Lowndes County Schools scored above 90 on a 100-point system.

That's well above the state averages.

"Through the work of our dedicated teachers and staff members that's a priority to make sure all of our students are college and career ready beyond Lowndes High School," said Assistant Superintendent, Rodney Green.

Hahira Elementary School had the highest score at 98. All state districts and individual school scores are available HERE.
