Chamber holds 'Power Breakfast'

Georgia leaders are working to help small businesses grow and unemployment rate to keep dropping.

The Albany Chamber hosted the annual Georgia Power lunch this morning with the Georgia chamber and half a dozen other local chambers. The meeting was held as an update on the legislative session that just finished including 13 pro-business bills.

Officials say state and local chambers are focusing on economic development and job creation by working competitively together.

"We're going to work hard to be a better partner to provide information through those guys about how your business can handle what's coming down the road and how to address some of the issues that we've got," said Chris Clark, President CEO of Georgia Chamber of Commerce.

The discussion included changes being made in work force development, education and how businesses will handle the new affordable healthcare before it goes into effect.

They say Georgia still has a long way to go but statistically we are seeing progress.
