Live music and food brings Valdostans downtown

VALDOSTA, GA (WALB) -

If you want to enjoy some live music with your lunch this week, head to the historic courthouse lawn in downtown Valdosta.

The 19th annual Brown Bag Lunch Concert Series is underway. Organized by the Valdosta Main Street Office as part of Historic Preservation Month.

Local restaurants will serve food and drinks, and a different band will perform each day from 11:30 to 1:30.

"We're right in the heart of downtown, we're on the square of this great over 100-year-old courthouse, and so in honor of Historic Preservation Month we just try to bring everybody downtown and to the heart of it all," said Amanda Peacock, Main Street Director.

Tomorrow the band Trailer of Tears will hit the stage. You can hear Jack Rabbit Slim on Thursday and Too North on Friday.

Admission is free.
