ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

A car overturned at an intersection in one Albany neighborhood after colliding with another car at the corner of Elm Street and Avalon Avenue this morning.

Albany police say 49-year-old Sandra King was traveling east in an Acura TL on Avalon Avenue when she failed to yield before entering the intersection.

King struck the right passenger door of 25-year-old Whitney Bynum's Dodge Caliber causing it to slide across the roadway. The wheels struck the curb and caused the Caliber to overturn in the yard at 1420 Avalon Avenue.

Bynum and King were transported to Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital by EMS to be checked for injuries.

Police say the two drivers didn't appear to have any serious injuries, but an officer says he is heading there to check on them.

Both vehicles were towed from the scene of the crash.

King is being charged with failure to yield while entering an intersection.
