ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

The mother of an Albany man charged with a double murder here makes an emotional plea asking police to continue to investigate the crime.

"I just want them to let my son come home. I just want them to let my son come home because he didn't do anything wrong. He didn't do anything wrong," cried Enchantra Warren.

Enchantra Warren is the mother of 18-year-old Desmond Warren, who is charged with felony murder and aggravated assault in connection with the March drive by shooting on Willard Avenue that killed 20-year-olds Desmond Williams and William Davis.

Warren and three other men are in jail charged with the murders. "I'm not going to sit around and let them do this to my son because I love my son and he didn't do anything," said Warren.

Now, relatives are speaking out for their loved one. Warren's uncle says his nephew was at home at the time of the crime and couldn't possibly have been involved.

"Desmond came home between 7:30 pm and 8 pm and he didn't go anywhere until about 1 or 2 o'clock that afternoon the next day. He was sitting back here watching TV in the backroom," said Rufus Jackson.

APD officials told us by phone this evening that the case is still ongoing and active case, but they say they would not have charged Warren if they didn't have sufficient evidence.

Still this mother is convinced that her son is wrongly accused and is praying for the person who did commit the crime.

"I know my son didn't do anything. I know he's innocent, so whoever thinking that he did it, baby all I can do is pray for you. God knows who did it and I pray to God they catch whoever did it, but it is not my son," cried Warren.

She says the truth will reveal itself.

Albany Police are still looking into this case. They ask anyone who has information about what happened to call Crimestoppers at 436-TIPS.
