ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

The Supreme Court of Georgia has accepted a petition for voluntary discipline and ordered a Review Panel reprimand of attorney Johnnie Mae Graham  of Albany.

Last June, Harold L. Hall filed a grievance against Graham relating to the lapse of the statute of limitations on a claim that Hall wanted to file against an insurance company when she was his lawyer.

Graham thought that hall had four years to file, but he only had two years before the statute of limitations expired.

After Hall declared bankruptcy, Graham agreed to pay $2,000 to the Trustee's law firm to reimburse it for the costs and expenses it incurred in bringing its motion.

Graham paid another $1,500 to Mr. Hall and Walter W. Kelley, the Chapter 7 Trustee, and admitted that she had not communicated with Hall in a timely manner about the status of his case.

Graham did not to go on camera with WALB, but told Jim Wallace "I asked for the voluntary panel because I knew that I made a mistake in the case, and that's what a good lawyer does."
