SPARKS (WALB) - A Cook County man has been charged in a double homicide that left a mother and her infant daughter dead.

GBI agents say 31-year-old Ashley "Bo" Rutland of Lenox is charged with two counts of murder, two counts of aggravated assault, two counts of battery and child molestation.

He's suspected of killing 33 year-old Francis Hall and 15-month-old Jersi Hall in their Sparks home on Barneyville Road Friday afternoon.

He was originally charged with one count of theft by taking motor vehicle. The victim's car was found abandoned off I-75 Friday. Rutland was arrested a short time later.

He's being held in the Cook County Jail.

No word on what his relation is to the victims.

Agents aren't saying how the mother and child were murdered.
