TIFTON, GA (WALB) -

A Tifton business owner, says someone took off with his lawn service equipment. Now he's offering a cash reward to get the items back.

Roderick Gains is standing where his lawn equipment once was. He says in April, someone came into his backyard and stole four pieces of equipment used for his business, Gains Lawn Service. He noticed his things were missing when he was preparing for work one morning.

"Saturday morning, I was coming around here to get the guys started, get them gassed up and everything. I was headed to go get some lawn mower blades and I said ‘where the trailer at.' Nobody seen it," said Roderick Gains.

He then called police and filed a report. He says not having lawn equipment is hurting business and his employees are out of work.

"Can't cut no grass with nothing to work with. Everybody still waiting on me to just replace it," said Roderick Gains.

After someone took his equipment, he put up a privacy fence to keep it from happening again.

Gains put the fence up the same day his equipment went missing. He also saw tire marks in the grass. Gains doesn't want to press charges, he just wants his equipment back.

"I'm going to leave it up to the law. As long as I get my stuff back, I'm good to go. That's fine. I'm going to leave it up to the law," said Roderick Gains.

Gains is missing a utility trailer, weed eater, an edger and a Poulan push mower worth about $18,000.

The Tifton Police Department is handling the case.

The cash reward is $500. Roderick Gains says if you know where his equipment is or want to return it, you can call him at 229-848-3209.
