Moultrie man burned in explosion


A Moultrie man is in the hospital after being burned in an explosion.

Moultrie Fire investigators says James Lilley was attempting to pour old gasoline into a barrel that he was using to burn some wooden pallets when it exploded.  It happened Friday at 7pm in his back yard at 1505 Hutchinson Drive.

Lilley suffered 2nd and 3rd degree burns to about 20% of his body. He was airlifted to the burn center in Augusta.
