ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

An Albany mother and daughter are about to make history at Dougherty High School.

They'll be the first parent and child to graduate at the same time.

Kimberly and Alexis Andrews will both receive their high school diplomas later this month.

Kimberly had all the credits to graduate 22-years ago, but she failed one part of the graduation test.

All these years later, a counselor at the school told her she could re-take the test.

She did and she passed.

She's excited finally to earn her high school diploma and says she won't stop there.

"Anything is possible so it's a great thing for me and I'm not going to quit because I'm going on to college somewhere," said Kimberly.

Kimberly will participate in Dougherty High's commencement ceremony on May 18th.

She and her daughter will march in right next to each other.
