VALDOSTA, GA (WALB) -

Two parents are being transported from Texas to Lowndes County to face charges that they fractured their baby's skull.

Valdosta Police say 20-year-old Alizabeth Ledbetter and 19-year-old Michael Quick were temporarily staying at the In Town Suites on Baytree Road.

On April 6th, six-week-old Katherine Quick was taken to South Georgia Medical Center after her parents claimed she had a seizure.

The baby was transferred to Shands Hospital with a fracture to her skull.

The parents were found yesterday in Bell County, Texas after warrants were issued charging them with cruelty to a child.

"The baby was in protective custody of the state and is out of the hospital and appears to be doing all right now," said Lt. Aaron Kirk, Valdosta Police Department.

The baby is in a foster home right now. The family had moved to Valdosta a few months ago from Texas.
