VALDOSTA, GA (WALB) -

A Valdosta teenager is in jail tonight accused of setting a room on fire in a low-income housing complex for seniors.

Last Saturday, officials say 18-year-old Spencer Lonnon intentionally set a unit on fire at the Ashley House in downtown Valdosta.

24 residents had to evacuate.

Lonnon is charged with arson, burglary, and 24 counts of reckless conduct.

"I think he knew some people that lived there, and for one reason or another was trying to get back at them for something, some type of argument," said Lt. Aaron Kirk of Valdosta Police Department.

No one was injured during the fire and Lonnon remains in the Lowndes County jail.
