Willard Ave. murder suspects make first appearance

ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

Overnight, detectives charged four men, two of whom were already in jail, with the March 17th drive by shooting that left two twenty year old men dead on Albany's southside.

Our cameras were in the courtroom Thursday morning as Harrell Hicks and Jawaski Kennedy appeared before a judge. They were denied bond.

APD homicide detectives arrested them over night and charged them with two counts of felony murder. Maurice Jimmerson and Desmond Warren are facing two counts of felony murder, aggravated assault, and firearms charges. They were already in the Dougherty County jail on unrelated charges.

The APD Robbery/Homicide Unit received additional information on May 1st regarding the drive-by shooting killing of 20-year-olds William Davis Junior and Desmond Williams that lead to the arrests.

20-year-old Harrell Lorenzo Hicks, aka Harrell Lawrence Jr, and 20-year-old Jawaski Edward Kennedy were arrested on charges for two counts of felony murder around 12:40 am this morning by the APD Robbery/Homicide Unit and Gang Unit. 

Jimmerson and Warren were already in Dougherty County Jail on unrelated charges and now also face two counts of felony Murder, along with multiple aggravated assault and Possession of a Firearm.

Investigators say William Davis, Junior and Desmond Williams were killed after about 50 shots were fired from a car that Sunday.

    Preliminary investigations revealed the female victim fell from a billboard while conducting routine maintenance, and suffered fatal injury, according to Lowndes County Coroner Austin J. Fiveash.

    Health officials are urging you to be careful around wildlife and stray animals, after a South Georgia family was attacked by a fox with rabies. This happened last Thursday on Cotton Avenue in Lake Park. A man and his dog were attacked by the fox when they went outside their house. Lowndes County animal service employees said the fox's test came back positive for Rabies. "Once someone really becomes infected with the rabies virus and it develops into the disease.
