Suspected serial robber strikes again in T'ville

THOMASVILLE, GA (WALB) -

Investigators need your help to catch a suspected serial robber before he strikes again.

Thomasville detectives think the same sunglasses-wearing man who robbed the Rose City beauty supply store last month, tried to rob a Rite Aid drug store Tuesday night.

And he was again caught on camera.

Investigators say this man walked into the Rite Aid on Broad Street around 7:30 Tuesday night.

They say he went to the back of the store to grab a coke and calmly brought it to the register.

"The cashier told him it was going to be $1.74 for the coke. At that time he then demanded that she give him the money out of the register," said Detective Louis Schofill.

Investigators say the robber did not appear to have a gun and the cashier did not even realize he was trying to rob her until after he left.

"She was kind of confused the way he was saying it. She didn't understand if he was going to cash a check or what exactly he was wanting, but he kept insisting that she empty the register and give him all the money out of the register," said Schofill.

Investigators say they think the Rite Aid robber is the same guy who robbed the Rose City beauty supply store across the street.

"It appears that the suspect has in the first video a long tattoo down his right arm. In this video he covered it up with a sock or some sort of gauze he has up from his elbow down to his forearm covering up his tattoo," said Schofill.

Investigators say the robber continued to ask the cashier for money, until other customers walked into the store.

"At first she thought he might have been going out to get his wallet, but then after she collected her thoughts, she realized he was demanding money out of the register and not going to get his wallet," said Schofill.

Investigators describe the suspect as a tall slender white man with a long tribal-like tattoo on his right arm.

If you recognize the man in the video, you're asked to call Thomasville Crime Stoppers at 227-3305.
