MACON, GA (WALB) -

An egg-carton factory in south Bibb County may be a 'total loss' after a major fire this morning.

Flames and heavy black smoke were pouring through the roof of the factory near the Middle Georgia Regional Airport.

Around 8:45 this morning, firefighters appeared to be pulling back from the plant due to 10 to 15 explosions heard inside.

Macon-Bibb Fire Chief Marvin Riggins said he expects his crews will be on scene all day and all night.

20 to 30 people were working in the building when the fire broke out. So far, no injuries were reported.
