UPDATE: Doggie door gun thief suspect caught


Thomasville Police have a suspect in a burglary at 407 Glen Arven Drive around 4:45 Tuesday afternoon. 

Police say a 14-year-old boy is now is custody charged with stealing the guns from the house, and all but one of the guns have been recovered. The boy's name cannot be published due to his age.

The victim, 48-year-old Timothy Chastain, told police his house was burglarized yesterday, and the burglar took five firearms and two cell phones.

Chastain said there was no forced entry, so he believes the thief entered through the doggy door.

In Colquitt County, twenty guns were stolen from a residence.

According to the incident report the items taken are listed as followed:

1. Ruger M77 308 Caliber stainless steel action/barrel with a black synthetic stock and a Weaver Grand Scope (value-$1,000)

2. Traditions .50 caliber muzzle loader stainless steel action/barrel with a black synthetic thumbhole stock and a Cabela's Pronghorn scope (value-$500)

3. Remington 870 12 gauge 3 1/2 magnum synthetic camo shotgun (value-$400)

4. H & R  .410 shotgun with black synthetic stock and gray Parkerized action/barrel (value-$200)

5. Ruger Mini-14 .223 caliber wooden stock blue action/barrel with a Simmons scope (value-$700)

6. Two Motorola cell phones (value-$80)
