Cabbage stalk grows multiple heads in garden

PELHAM, GA (WALB) -

A Pelham man thought he was planting one cabbage, but he got more than he expected.

Dennis Davis planted a cabbage last year. After it was finished growing, he cut the head of the cabbage off, only to see six more heads growing back on one stalk.

Some of the stalks in his garden have three, four and five heads of cabbage. He's never seen anything like this so he started to ask around in his community.

"Well I didn't know what to think. I wanted to make sure that it was really six heads. So I said okay, I'm going to watch it and I watched it and as it was growing and growing, I said okay. I started inquiring to my friends, asking them if they ever saw anything like this. They say no," said Dennis Davis.

Davis took his cabbages to the Chamber of Commerce in Pelham and Camilla and they also have not seen this type of cabbage.
