RICHLAND COUNTY, SC (WIS) -

The South Carolina Highway Patrol is trying to figure out what caused a driver to crash into a tree Saturday night.

Richland County Coroner Gary Watts says 41-year-old Laurie Steiner of Hopkins died in the crash on Harmon Road.  Watts says at about 8:45 p.m., Steiner's vehicle left the road and crashed into a tree.

Watts says Steiner was not wearing a seat belt and was thrown from the vehicle. She died on the way to the hospital.
