BROOKS COUNTY, GA (WALB) -

The young man who was the subject of a massive river search, Nathan Wilkins, is in Denver and is safe. Apparently he's staying with a friend there.

Investigators have spoken with him and he claims he knows nothing about the suicide note (which was typed).

Lowndes and Brooks County investigators searched for the 19-year-old Valdosta State University student.

Bay County, Florida officials tells us Wilkins is due in court May 6th.

Last June, he was arrested and charged with traveling to meet a minor for sexual activity and solicitation of a minor via the internet.

Wilkins pleaded not guilty to the charges in Florida.

Lowndes investigators say they have not had any communication with Wilkins and have not charged him with any crime.
