ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

Darton State College honored top students and faculty members, Wednesday night.

The awards were given to students who excelled in academics, student activities, service to the college as well as outstanding faculty and staff.

The guest speaker encouraged students to embrace the responsibility of being leaders.

"If you are a high achiever, you are noted as a leader and with that come a lot of responsibility. If you're a leader you have to act like one and think like one," said guest speaker Tracy Goode.

Scholarship recipients were also recognized at the ceremony.
