ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

Albany Technical College is producing more health care professionals who will soon join the workforce, with a capping and pinning ceremony for students in Albany Tech's Health Care Division.

It marks the half way point for some, while for others, it means they're done with school.

35 students enrolled in Practical Nursing, Emergency Medical Technician, and Pharmacy Technology programs got pinned or capped.

"According to the Labor Department you are going to see about a 15 to 20 percent increase in healthcare opportunities, ands that would include Paramedicine, pharmacy technician, and nursing," said ATC's Dean of Academic Affairs, Mattie Buchannon.

There are eight programs to choose from in the Healthcare Technology Program at Albany Tech. They're also searching for dietician instructors, so they can add that to the list as well.
