Albany Marines return from Afghanistan

As we remain focused on last week's terrorist attack in Boston, we should also remember thousands of troops are still in harm's way in a war started after the 9-11 terrorist attacks. Some of them returned home safely to Albany Tuesday evening.

Three Marines stepped off a van at the Marine Corps Logistics Base to cheers and hugs and a small welcome home ceremony. They all told us they're thrilled to be home and appreciate the support. Sgt. Joshua Turner said, "It's exciting knowing that we do have that support from fellow Marines and everything."

Gy.Sgt. Efrain Banuelos told us he was deployed to Afghanistan eight months ago on last minute notice. "There's a chance. There's always that chance. I was a last minute add on, and I deployed with two weeks notice. So, I did my time, and now I'm back. I'll be ready to go again," he said.

His wife said the USO helped the family stay in touch while he was out of the country.

The Marines did logistics work to support U.S. Marine Corps operations in Afghanistan.
