Thomas Co. man arrested for trafficking cocaine

THOMASVILLE, GA (WALB) -

Thomas County Narcotics Agents say they took a large amount of crack cocaine off the streets during a weekend traffic stop.

Acting on a tip, they stopped 35-year old Timothy Stewart Sunday on Webster Street.

They charged him with trafficking because he had more than 28 grams of crack cocaine.

"He's dealing to multiple people if he's got that kind of quantity so it takes a good bit of dope off the street and hinders the people he was probably going to supply from getting it and I'm sure they will still try to get it from somewhere else, but at least it takes that amount of dope off the street," said Narcotics Commander Kevin Lee.

Stewart remains in the Thomas County Jail.
