THOMAS COUNTY, GA (WALB) -

A suspected family of thieves is in jail tonight in south Georgia accused of stealing items from all over the country.

Investigators say 78-year old Roger Kiser, his wife 74-year old Patricia Kiser, and their son, 48-year old Robert Kiser stole these items from Michigan, Alabama, Florida, and Georgia.

After searching the Kisers' truck and Thomas County home, investigators found stolen power tools, lawn equipment, jewelry, and guns.

"During the traffic stop, we were able to determine they had two firearms. Mr. Kiser and his son Robert were convicted felons which is a crime in itself. After interviewing them in reference to the items they had in the back of the truck, we were able to determine they were stolen from the surrounding areas," said Lt. Tim Watkins.

Investigators think the Kisers stole items during the day from sheds, barns, and homes.

All three are charged with theft by receiving stolen property.

Robert and Roger are both also charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
