In the aftermath of 9/11, we hoped and prayed Americans would never have to endure another terrorist attack on our soil. Tragically, it happened again last week in Boston.

Americans reeled from the sight of bomb blasts at the Boston Marathon finish line. And the hours after the bombings turned even more dramatic.

Un-precedented live television coverage filled homes across the country as we watched the pursuit of two terrorists, two cowardly brothers determined to kill as many people as possible.

It was danger of a magnitude that most American law officers will never encounter, but the officers of Massachusetts and the FBI didn't hesitate.

They quickly put their lives on the line to make sure the two terrorists were brought to justice.

Friday night, as a violent week came to a close, frazzled and weary citizens of Watertown, Massachusetts lined the streets and applauded as police officers, firefighters, paramedics and other rescue workers left the scene of the capture of the surviving terrorist.

We saw pride and the true American spirit.

And while our national security leaders continue work to prevent terrorists attacks, we as Americans stand firm in our resolve that terrorists will never break our spirit or our pride in our country.
