Food Bank receives huge donation

ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

The Second Harvest of South Georgia Food Bank gets a visit from the Georgia Peanut Commission and Peanut Proud today.

Those two agencies will deliver 10,080 jars of peanut butter to the food bank, which supplements the diets of thousands of South Georgians.

The peanut butter donated is made from quality Georgia grown peanuts and processed in Georgia at Albany's Tara Foods, Inc.

Don Koehler of the GA Peanut Commission, Armond Morris, chairman of the Georgia Peanut Commission, Gregg Grimsley, chairman of Peanut Proud, and Joy Crosby, Director of Communications for the Georgia Peanut Commission were on hand for the delivery.

    Lee County Fire Chief David Forrester said there were two people in the home, and they saw one person in the front yard.  Two people in the home were transported to Phoebe Putney.
