Two jailed after stabbing leads to emergency room brawl

ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

Two people are in jail after a brawl inside the Phoebe Putney emergency room.

Police say 22 year old Angel Wheeler stabbed 19 year old Willie Lanier and when they got to the hospital, Lanier's family attacked Wheeler.

Several nurses and a doctor were shoved in the melee.

Quantivious Thomas is charged with simple battery. Thomas' mother says he was upset over his friend being stabbed.

"They didn't know if he was living or whatever and they were taking their time,"said Cynthia Thomas.  " Because two of his other friends had died previously in the drive by over there. He thought he was fixing to lose another friend, and it did something to him."

Thomas said she doesn't think it's fair her son was the only one arrested.

Lewis' knife wound isn't serious and his girlfriend is charged with reckless conduct.
